Project documentation – focus on the site organization and design

  • Overview and housekeeping
  • Presentation
  • Deliverables:
    • Detailed site architecture diagram
    • Both lo-fidelity and hi-fi wireframes, with design plan based on the site architecture diagram
    • The design specification
      • Type
      • Colors
      • Graphics and/or multimedia (including source)
      • Assumptions about audience hardware
    • Mockups for at least [N] pages, including
      • Home page
      • Contact page, including social media accounts
      • About page
      • Two content pages
    • A scenario describing how one persona would successfully complete a series of tasks
    • Detailed description of how the selected persona would discover the website
  • Mini-lecture/discussion/questions

Mid-session digital stand-ups

Online reports due by midnight (Canvas) – each report should explain (a) what you’ve done, (b) what you’re working on and (c) what you need help with or where you have questions/blocker

  1. One week after class (TU, 7 November)

Within 24 hours, read and respond to at least two class member reports. This is an opportunity to help one another move through challenges.

When we meet on for session four, each class member should have completed one stand-up report and at least two responses in this sprint.

Project documentation – focus on implementation and usability testing

  • Usability testing plan
  • Prototype appropriate to test plan
  • Draft pitch deck

Tools/Mobile

  • Google: is your site mobile friendly?
  • Skala Preview (requires Mac, runs on iOS and Android devices to test pixel-perfect design previews)
  • UXCam (UXCam is free to use for up to 100 video recordings but must be working app)
  • WatchSend (record iPhone app interactions but must be working app)
